Dec. 2004-Dec. 2005

Having left FL in Dec. 2005 we have sailed more than 7,000 mi. in the past year. Our route took us through Mexico, Belize, Honduras, Colombia, Panama (including the canal for the 2nd time), Galapagos, a light wind 22-day crossing to the Marquesas, Tuomotos, Tahiti, Riatea, Bora-Bora, Cook Islands, and Tonga where we spent 2 months trying to ship the boat to NZ for repair after our dismasting. The passage from Tonga to NZ can be a rough one, especially when you don't have a mast so Tandem was put on an inter-island freighter, arriving in Auckland 4 days later with minimal damage.

Tandem is currently lying in Gulf Harbour Marina, near Auckland in New Zealand where she is awaiting repair after a dismasting in Tonga. This has put a bit of a crimp in our plans to travel and explore NZ but we'll still manage some time away from the usual boat chores.
