We're back in NZ interviewing boat fixers and trying to establish schedules for repairs while enjoying the spectacular scenery at the same time. Summer brings numerous holidays here so we have already taken one long weekend to explore the far north part of North Island and it gave us a chance to catch up with cruising friends also. Distances are short but the roads are usually winding 2-lanes with narrow one-lane bridges. Fortunately the cows and sheep are contained but our usual hike takes us right through the fields and forests of someone's private land with some amazing vistas of the Hurake Gulf.
